CES 2024: Withings presents BeamO, the world's first multiscope

 It measures everything: temperature, heart and respiratory system.

Withings is a company that offers various connected devices to monitor your health. It sells, among other things, watches , scales, and even blood pressure cuffs, all connected to a dedicated application.

Withings devices are very popular with users and have a good reputation. And for good reason, the firm places particular emphasis on offering useful new products to its customers. It presented, for example, last January, during CES 2023, a urine analyzer . This is to allow users to know “if their vitamin C levels are high enough, if the pH is correct or if they are dehydrated”.

This year, it presented a “  revolutionary  ” new product, according to it, at CES 2024. It is BeamO, a device capable of providing a lot of data on our current state of health. According to Withings, it would be the first multiscope in the world.

“In the past, body temperature was the only health test regularly performed at home. BeamO will revolutionize the measurement of basic vital signs carried out during medical visits from the comfort of one's home. » Shares Withings in a press release.

All in one

The device serves as a “medical grade” electrocardiogram to detect potential heart rhythm irregularities (sinus variability). It can also act as an oximeter to measure the oxygen level in the blood, a stethoscope to “  listen to your heart and lungs  ”, and finally, it can also be used as a simple thermometer.

The company nevertheless specifies that “heart sounds and breathing sounds must be interpreted by a doctor. BeamO can also help doctors in the examination of diseases such as asthma or COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).”

BeamO should also support Apple Health, but of course it will have its dedicated iOS

Price, release date

Regarding its release, Withings announces that BeamO is planned to be available for sale from summer 2024. The BeamO multiscope will initially be sold at €249.95 . The company specifies, however, that the price may change. “Any change in the selling price will be communicated before the product is released. »
